Katie Blythe

Katie Blythe, MSW, LCSWA, CHC, (pronouns: she/her) is an experienced therapist who works with children, adolescents, young adults and families who are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, difficulty regulating emotions, and self-worth and value. She has experience working alongside educators and professionals in the school system to provide wrap-around support to students struggling to attend school regularly due to behavior, non-compliance, and home life challenges. Katie believes in taking a creative empowerment and holistic approach which highlights strengths to guide each member of the family to a healthy solution based way of living.

Katie utilizes an eclectic style to introduce sustainable practices to help clients discover who they are and what coping skills will be beneficial on their unique journey.

Q: What are Katie's fees?

Katie's services are self-pay. Payment can be made via debit, credit, or HSA card. Superbills are available upon request.

Katie is a licensed Professional Educator for School Social Work and Clinical Social Worker Associate who earned her Bachelor and Master of Social Work from Winthrop University. There she assisted in establishing the university’s first chapter of the National Association of Black Social Workers.

 

Katie worked as a School Social Worker assisting many vulnerable populations and transitioned to a leadership role where she provided mediation between the home, school, community, and county for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. While in these positions, she established and sustained partnerships, directly serviced families with interventions, assisted in writing policies and procedures for streamlining supports, and facilitated training to stakeholders in the community on the importance of how to best support vulnerable students.

 

Through her trauma-informed and holistic approach, she also utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to provide evidence-based solutions to challenges. Katie is also versed in teaching sustainable strategies that fit within the context of her client’s life, to develop healthy habits in communication, health and reducing stress. Katie believes in providing a safe and warm environment to help clients discover their own answers and personal power that lives within.
