Egan Counseling & Consulting is Growing!
Seeking Full-Time Clinicians

We’re looking for creative and talented licensed clinicians (psychologists, counselors, school counselors and social workers) to join our growing team. Is this you? Read on to learn more about who we are, what we value, and who we are looking for.

Egan Counseling & Consulting (formerly Charlotte Parent Coaching, LLC) (founded by Dr. Tara Egan) is as a practice that relies heavily on cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused therapy to provide efficient, practical, and compassionate support for children, teens, and parents experiencing distress. We have a lovely office conveniently located in the Carmel area of Charlotte, NC.

Dr. Tara Egan has provided mental health support for children, teens, and parents for nearly 22 years. She holds a doctorate in school psychology and has specialized training in counseling and family-school relations. She’s worked in public schools, private schools, mental health centers, college settings, and in private practice. Her private practice was originally known as Charlotte Parent Coaching, LLC, and was established in 2011 after serving nearly 10 years as a school psychologist. Due to the growth of her business and a shift in her focus to include in-depth work with families experiencing separation and divorce, she transitioned her business name to Egan Counseling & Consulting in 2022.

Dr. Egan is the author of three books; Better Behavior for Ages 2-10 (Lesson Ladder, 2013), Adolescence: A Parent's Guide (Rockridge Press, 2020) and First-Time Mom's Toddler Discipline Handbook (Rockridge Press, 2021). She co-hosts a parenting podcast called "One Day You'll Thank Me" with her teenage daughter, Anna.

Egan Counseling & Consulting is dedicated to putting mental health services into the hands of as many children and families as possible. Our team and our values are crucial in helping us fulfill our mission. We define our culture with four values- fun, relationships, integrity, and inclusion. We’re looking for clinicians who not only fit with our culture but who can strengthen it.

Our team is made up of exceptionally trained providers who utilize evidence-based interventions to help clients thrive.

Our practice is built on four essential principles:

  • Balance: Balance is sustained by opportunities for both inhibition of impulsive behaviors and activation of growth behaviors.

  • Awareness: Awareness is essential for positive emotional growth, as most people have desire to change and develop, but lack the insight required for making effective choices.

  • Strength: Discovering and engaging with personal strengths is key to psychological growth and well-being. BASE clinicians assist their clients in identifying and cultivating desired strengths and utilizing acceptance strategies to engage with forward momentum.

  • Evolution: Evolution will occur both on a clinical level for individual clients and through BASE supporting the evolution of clinical practice of psychology.

Clientele: All services are self-pay. However, when requested Egan Counseling & Consulting will email a monthly “superbill”, for clients to submit to their insurance company as an out-of-network service. Services are primarily provided in the office setting, with the occasional client preferring telehealth
