Public Speaking & Professional Development

Our therapists have extensive experience with public speaking and professional development. They have spoken to a variety of audiences: parents, teachers, administrators, child-care staff, and other mental health providers. Dr. Egan, specifically, has been a guest on NPR and local radio shows, has served as a guest columnist for websites that address parenting and child developmental issues, and has been featured in Charlotte Parent Magazine and the Charlotte Observer. If your organization would like to schedule one of our therapists for a public speaking appearance, you can expect:

  • Prompt, professional replies to your phone calls and email messages.

  • One or more phone consultations with the public speaker prior to your event in order to determine how to best serve your audience.

  • A professionally prepared, dynamically delivered presentation focused on achieving the outcomes you want with your audience.

  • The opportunity for your organization or audience members to contact Egan Counseling & Consulting after the event with any follow-up questions or feedback.

Dr. Egan speaks on topics related to parenting, education, child development, special education issues, behavioral management, co-parenting throughout separation and divorce, parenting in the technological world, child advocacy in the school setting, and mental health topics related to anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral disorders, bullying, and adolescent issues.

Presentations are customized to meet the specific needs of your organization. Presentations can vary in length, ranging from 1-1/2 hours to a full-day workshop, and may provide continuing education units (CEUs) for those seeking to maintain licensure. If a topic is not listed that you are interested in, do not hesitate to ask about Dr. Egan’s availability and ability to present on your topic.
