He is currently a doctoral candidate (Ph.D.) in Counseling Education and Supervision at the University of South Carolina. He has a combined 15 years of experience teaching psychology and counseling in various colleges and universities, as well as offering clinical services in public school systems, community clinics and in private practice.

Jerry utilizes an eclectic approach in working with his clients, offering evidence-based techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Theory, Dialectical and Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. He views the therapeutic process as a collaborative one, working with his clients not to give them answers they need, but assisting them in finding their own answers to the issues bringing them to therapy. His goal is to create a safe, comfortable, and inclusive environment for all clients to promote healing and growth, welcoming individuals and families from all races, cultural backgrounds, sexual and gender identities.

Currently, Jerry is focusing on using his clinical experience in marital/couples and family therapy to expand his practice to include working with couples experiencing high-conflict divorces.  He is a new member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC).  In collaboration and consultation with practice founder Dr. Tara Egan, who specializes in this area, Jerry is now accepting couples who are seeking assistance in successfully navigating acrimonious divorces, specifically focusing on offering beneficial co-parenting skills that can allow children in this situation to thrive and experience the least amount of stress as possible.
