Caitlyn Andersen

Caitlyn Andersen, M.S., LCMHCA, NCC, (pronouns: she/her) is an experienced counselor who works with children, adolescents, young adults, and parents as they encounter familial changes, transitions, self-worth, anxiety, depression, trauma, and addictions. Caitlyn has experience working in high levels of care as a PRTF (psychiatric residential treatment facility) therapist and is able to assist clients in regulating emotion and de-escalation with a calm approach. Caitlyn also has experience working in inpatient substance abuse with adolescents and outpatient anger management with adults. Caitlyn enjoys utilizing a person-centered and holistic approach, while incorporating aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, and art therapy. Caitlyn has experience working alongside families and children, independently and through family therapy, to assist families in their mental health goals.

Caitlyn helps clients to recognize patterns and unlearn patterns through self-awareness, build resiliency, and build confidence in themselves and others through therapy. Caitlyn aims to provide a safe and empathic environment for all.

Caitlyn’s services are self pay. Payment can be made via debit, credit, or HSA card. Superbills are available upon request.

 

Caitlyn is a National Board Certified Counselor who earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Clemson University. Caitlyn then attended East Carolina University where she received her Master of Science in Clinical Counseling with an emphasis in addictions. Caitlyn was initiated into Phi Kappa Phi for her academic excellence and graduated with a 4.0. 

During Caitlyn’s practicum, she worked at the school’s campus for their clinic and was hired over the summer to continue seeing clients for court mandated anger management courses and individual therapy. Caitlyn then completed her internship at PORT Health Adolescent – Greenville where she focused on substance use at an inpatient level. Following graduation, Caitlyn went to work for a PRTF in NC where she continued to assist children and families utilizing individual, group, and family therapy. Throughout these experiences, Caitlyn gained insight on how to assist families in rebuilding relationships and their lives following mental health struggles and addiction.
